Concessions
To all parents:
This year, we are asking that you volunteer at least once with staffing our concession stands. As an all-volunteer organization, the BPGSA concession stands are an important part of our fundraising activities. Proceeds from the stands help support BPGSA teams and field improvements.
Your manager may have assigned you to staff the concession stand. Please arrive at the concession stand 15 minutes prior to game time. In the event of a rainout, the makeup date, field and starting time will become your new assignment.
These dates have been randomly assigned. If your assigned date is unsuitable for whatever reason, please attempt to switch dates with another parent. If that isn't possible, let us know. We will still need to open the stand.
All instructions for staffing the stands are posted inside the stand and following this information.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance.
Sincerely,
The Executive Board and Managers of BPGSA.
Guidelines for Concession Stand Volunteers
Due to liability issues children under 15 years of age are not permitted in or to work the concession stand. Please do not give product away. We are trying to make money from the concessions to support BPGSA.
50/50 RAFFLE
Enlist two children at the beginning of the game to sell 50/50 tickets during the game and reimburse them with $1.00 each from the ticket sale proceeds. 3 tickets for $1, 7 tickets for $2, 20 tickets for $5. Have the umpire draw a number during the seventh inning stretch. Put BPGSA’s share of the money in an envelope with date and game and put it in the locked metal deposit box on the wall.
PRODUCT PRICES
Prices are on the Pepsi sign and should be on the individual product boxes.
SNOW CONES
Use one pump of flavoring per snow cone. Don’t refrigerate flavoring. Be sure to turn motor off immediately after crushing ice.
COFFEE
Make one pot of coffee (if you feel it will sell that day). Hot chocolate is in individual packets.
HOT DOGS
Start with 5 hot dogs (use grill) if you feel they will sell. Microwave or grill the buns. Please leave only one opened packet of hot dogs in refrigerator or in Pepsi cooler. If you use those, replace it with one from the freezer for the next person. Serve on a napkin. Condiments go in refrigerator or in Pepsi cooler when closing.
NACHOS AND CHEESE
Fill nacho container with chips from bag. Cheese is in individual containers. Peel off top and microwave for 20 seconds, stir, then microwave for 20 more seconds. Nacho cheese is our most expensive item.
PRETZELS
Keep in freezer. Moisten with water and sprinkle with salt. Microwave on a paper plate for one minute and serve on the same paper plate. Please keep only one bag opened at a time. Pretzels and cheese is $2.
HATS
Two sizes: Youth and Adult L/XL. We are out of Adult S/M. They are fitted caps and are $4 each. Please remove and retain display clip from hat before selling.
TO CLOSE STAND (After last game of the night)
- Near the end of the game, clean appliances (microwave, grill, coffee pot) and utensils. Wipe around snow cone area.
- Restock pop, candy, chips and all other products and supplies.
- Empty garbage in concession stand. Cardboard at Leland must be placed directly in large dumpster.
- Count money and fill out TWO papers. Have the team manager sign each.
The first paper has line listings for each team and is called REFRESHMENT STAND LEDGER. It stays with the moneybox.
The second paper called REFRESHMENT STAND REPORT, gets put in the envelope with any money over $25.00 (leave $25 in the cash tray) and put in the locked deposit box on the wall. Sign your name, date and have manager sign report.
- If no one is replacing you, ensure grill and coffee pot are off or unplugged and double check that the padlock and window areas are secured when leaving.
